- The election is over and the entire Board of Directors was reelected for another term with Bill Barlow filling in the open Rep slot. With the New Year upon us we intend to continue doing what we can to improve our field and club. To start with we have reduced the soda machine price to 50 cents and we have begun working on plans to have a club picnic at the field in the near future. Members cost will be free and we are taking bids for the catering. If you know some one in the catering business let me or one of the other Board members know so we can get their input.
- Last month we had our first electric ducted fan event/gathering
hosted by Kyle Hornberger. Kyle, who is 19 years of age, approached
me several months ago with this idea and said he
would promote it on the Internet. I gave him a free rein and he
spent a lot of time on RC Groups talking up our club and the
event. It turned out to be a great success and he got the big
three guns in Florida RC to attend. Bob Violet, Bob Fiorenze,
and John Banner a Frank Tiano rep. all came and brought their
latest Jets. These Jets are valued at about $5500 each. They
flew demonstration flights all day and Bob Violet let Kyle fly his
Electra on the buddy box. Kyleisi feet still havenit hit the ground.
About 25 pilots attended and all had a great time. Photos can
be viewed on our Web Site, RC Groups and BVM.com. Bob
Violet also brought a box full of his products, that were raffled
off, and we made about $100 for the club. Great job Kyle.
